Persistence is quality that all outdoors enthusiasts must have to accomplish many of the outdoor activities we love. Giving up a mountain bike race just because of a flat tire or front brake failure is just not part of our make-up. I've seen people carrying a bike through the finish gates, rather than give up and not finish.
Check out this post from Tim Sanders about where he learned the importance of finishing what you start. It will give you several giggles and AHA! moments. Tim is a FANTASTIC speakers. I had the opportunity and privilege to see him speak at a conference I attended last September and I immediately went and read both his books. I've added a couple links to these at the bottom of the page, in case you want to learn more about this guy. I definitely preferred "Love is the Killer App" of the two. It will change the way you view life, completely.

I think this is a valuable lesson for us, not just in our outdoor activities, but the rest of our lives. Enjoy!
