OK, so I know it's been a while since I've posted, but that's going to change. Since my last post, I have determined that my stomach aches during races were caused primarily by PowerGel energy gel packs. I thought all gel packs were created equal, but apparently I was mistaken. I am now using Gu Just Plain packs, as they are just basic complex carbs and caffeine, without a bunch of flavors and stuff. No problems at all.

Two weeks ago, I raced in my first race since adjusting the valve shims in my bike (they got too tight at the Okeechobee race). The bike ran great and I am so proud of myself for tackling this job on my own, but I could not have not done it without a great technical write-up on CRFsonly.com .

The race was at the Gatorback Motocross track and I raced with my brother-in-law and two other friends. Although this was our "group", we had 44 riders in our class. This was, by far, the biggest class I've experienced in a hare scramble before. I ended up 2nd in our group and 23rd overall, despite a VERY bad start. I hate having to race through motocross tracks, like we did on this one. If I wanted to race motocross, I'd race motocross. I race hare scrambles. Big difference.
