We went down to Mt. Dora and Taveres Florida this past weekend to ride Thomas the Tank Engine train. It was a slow 25 minute ride through Taveres and Mt. Dora and back. The kids really enjoyed it. They were able to visit the gift store with lots of Thomas toys, play on the playground, play with Thomas train sets, get their picture with Sir Topham Hatt, and get their KidGuard ID. On the way home, we noticed someone riding a Segway and then we saw the store in downtown Mt. Dora. We all thought, "Segway's in Mt. Dora?" Well, I guess so! Mt. Dora does have a lot of great antiques stores and restaurants, so these would be great for getting around and leaving your car parked for the day. The local store does rentals and tours, so go give it a shot!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackI really like the look of this blog. SOunds like you had a great time in Mt. Dora. Did you know Disney does not allow segways in the parks…even for the disabled.
Not sure how the disabled could use a Segway, anyway. They kind of require full use of all facilities. Disney does allow Segways in EPCOT for cast members and for guests during their Segway tour. You can learn more about them here:
