Continuing on yesterday's topic, I thought I would discuss my favorite cache of all time, Tube Torcher II. I found this cache with a group from Northeast Florida last February in beautiful Asheville, NC -- an outdoorsman's paradise! The cache takes you throughout Asheville, including along the French Broad River. The cache owners are very sensitive about giving out too much information, so I will be as vague as possible about the cache.
The cache has several "stages" with multiple sections within each "stage" and includes puzzles, clues, urban settings, not so urban settings, water, dirt, and adventure. 
We worked as a team of 5 (I am the one with the Gators hat and blue jacket) and began the adventure around 4PM EST on a Friday. We finally gave in to our exhaustion about 12:30AM Saturday morning, with, what we would later determine was the easiest part of the cache, completed.
We re-started our search the next morning about 9AM after stopping at the local sporting 
goods store for hip waders, after learning the night before that these were an absolute necessity. With what we believed to be the majority of the cache behind us (boy, were we wrong), we set out to complete the cache by lunch. In actuality, we finished the cache around 5PM that night. We quickly returned to our KOA campground to shower up for a celebratory dinner the local cachers had planned for us at the Mellow Mushroom. We had a great time chatting with the locals that had completed the cache and sharing war stories.
This truly is a cache of epic proportions. The cache hiders took THREE YEARS to plan and set this cache up for finders. Once you've done it, you know why it took so long. Since being published in January of 2007, only 53 people have found the cache and over 140 cachers "watch" the happenings on the cache page through their Geocaching.com accounts.
